Below are small images of projects I have at least to the sketch level. Not all of these will ever be brought to final, nor will likely the final images be identical to the sketched versions. I'm going to try to put these into categories, though there is some crossover. These sketches are AVAILABLE FOR COMMISSIONS, or you can leave messages with ones that you would like to see done. The names are in some cases intended to be final, and others are just labels so I can identify the sketches.
Wine Country Fantasy
The Above two pieces are the first planned images in a new series, currently entitled "Wine Country Fantasy". Eventually I plan to do a series of images that incorporate wine tasting themes as well as wines themselves. "Cabernet" is the first of the images named and inspired by a specific type of wine.
The images below mostly fall into the category I have traditionally titled "Galactic Reflections". They are places, homes, in fantastic yet futuristic night or twilight settings, places that feel like somewhere you would like to live, or at least vacation. I am toying with the idea of renaming the series "Worlds Beyond Words."
Jessie's World
New Synura
What started out as a rework of my earlier image "Far Synura" expanded into this sketch, with an eclipse replacing the galaxy. As ususally happens, details in the city would be worked out during the process of painting.
This sketch is based upon a traditional painting that my Grandmother Jessie did and I always loved. The only thing remaining from her image is the general composition and the mountains. That's Grandfather Dee and Jessie hugging on the rock, looking up into the rise of a galaxy, representing their forever love.
This sketch I have almost started painting twice, but have run out of time leading up to a convention art show.
Lake Secina
This sketch still needs many details tightened up before going to final painting. It is a blend of Maxfield Parrish style staging in the foreground with a furture fantasy setting in the background. Seeing this with the other two very blue images above, I am toying with seeing how well it would work if I pusehd the background toward violet and purple.
